1. Java Developer.
We have an exciting opportunity for an experienced Senior Application Developer to design and build web-based multi-tiered applications and tools that will be used by Global Data analysts to create Bloomberg products. Candidates must have at least 5 years experience in developing and troubleshooting high quality, distributed and scalable applications.
Candidates should also be familiar with techniques for integrating existing mission critical systems. Building applications for large distributed processing systems is a must. The developer will be involved in the full system lifecycle, including system design, coding, testing and production support.
Requirements:
· Bachelor's degree in computer science or equivalent
· Strong object oriented analysis, design skills and data structures
· At least 5 years of Core Java Programming Skills in Unix/Linux environment
· Very Strong Core Java Skills: Garbage collection, Serialization, Threading NIO, concurrency package, class loader, JIT compilers, optimizations
· Experience developing multi-threaded applications (knowledge of fundamentals of threads is assumed)
· Experience developing distributed, high-performance multi-tiered applications
· Understanding and use of Design Patterns and enterprise integration patterns
· Strong database skills including writing SQL
· Unix Programming Skills and Admin Skills: Shell Scripts, Perl, awk, sed
· Understanding of HTTP, TCP/IP and Network programming
· Strong troubleshooting skills
· Team player and the ability to communicate effectively
· Exposure to C/C++ programming on Unix; System Calls, memory, CPU profiling
Other desirable skills include:
· Accountability and ownership of solutions, design, project and team success.
· Experience using Eclipse, CVS/WinCVS

· Strong Computer Science Background. Equal to BS/MS - ComputerScience
· Extremely Strong PL/SQL skills and Stored Procedure development
· Experience supporting Oracle PL/SQL code in high volume client-facing applications
· Extensive knowledge of unit testing stored procedures implemented to return complex data structures to middleware
· Performance tuning and query optimization Oracle 10g and 11g
· Data Modeling skills and normalizations
· Design of high performance Stored Procedure code that is deadlock free in an highly concurrent environment
· Physical database design issues, de-normalization, materialized views, judgements on costs, benefits, analysis and tradeoffs
· Data replication and high availability design scenarios with Oracle Streams
· Java and XML experience is a plus
4. Sr Build/Release Engineer
(a) Responsibility
· Define, coordinate, document and maintain policies and standards for change management, source control management, build management and release management.
· Establish and drive practices across the team to increase quality and adaptability, reduce risk and reduce effort for release and operational tasks.
· Proactively refine and improve the engineering build and release processes and supporting artifacts and tools
· Initiates and participates in timely communication to all stakeholders as necessary during release process
· Work closely with various development teams, business stakeholders in scheduling releases and system maintenance
· Provides advanced technical skills in monitoring, troubleshooting, maintenance and enhancements of deployed software applications and middleware
· Enhance and create effective deployment scripts of various artifacts with full automation
· Spearhead the adoption and implementation of a Continuous Integration and Build solution
(b) Hard Skills
· Knowledge and experience with scripting tools in general, i.e. shell, Perl, Python etc
· Hand-on experience in Linux/Unix/Windows OS and proficient in system level debugging/monitoring
· Strong understanding of ANT in creating and updating ANT scripts and build.xml
· Must possess in-depth knowledge in source/ version control system, particularly SVN and CVS, GIT will be a plus
· Hand-on experience with any auto build and deploy system such as maven, ivy and any other relevant tool like TeamCity
· Ability to create application release packages and schedule the deployment of the packages via source control repository system such as SVN/GIT
· Ability to deploy application changes to Linux and Oracle servers and test environment
· Solid understanding of incident, problem, release, change policy and processes and well established SDLC framework
· Knowledgeable in source code branching and merging with SVN/GIT
· Knowledge and experience of configuration management.
· Past experience in migrating CVS to SVN/GIT is a plus
· Knowledge and experience with Apache web server monitoring and configuration
(c) Soft Skills
